Plate Tectonics.

Have you ever thought how cool and weird Grand Canyon is? Yes?, About 100 millions years ago (Jurassic - Cretaceous period) it was The bottom of Pacific ocean; Then around 60 millions years ago (tertiary period) everything changed, and land masses of Grand Canyon rose and became the surface. So the question is what happened? According to the theory, (also, look at the map ) the Pacific Plate shifting towards the Eurasian plates and slowly getting under the Eurasian core. While the other end of the Pacific plate edge (in the USA and Canada) is taking up the Atlantic Plate. This is how Grand Canyon land masses were rose up and later a huge river came about…..

Look at the geological map of world tectonic plates (John Ericksson, 2002, Plate tectonics)

Recent earthquakes in Haiti, Japan and Chile, and volcanic activity on The Kamchatka Peninsula tells us about major drifts in four plates Pacific, Atlantic , Nazca and Cocos. Global Watch tries to subdue everyone’s fears by making it seem as the plates are moving slowly. But in reality, I think it’s much bigger than that. Large numbers of strong earthquakes could possibly tell that us that we have reached the point when actual shifts processes could be observed.

Now look at Global GPS position of continents and their shifts.

The scientists disapprove beliefs that everything could just break lose in one day because the plates movement are very slow and all geological processes take millions of years. Well, could be they wrong?

If I am correct then in next coming couple years huge earthquakes and volcanos will raise in California, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Japan, Pacific region of Russia. Most likely Japan will be hit the most and even partially submerged to the water, while Pacific region of Russia will be ultra Volcano active, and American continents definitely will shake a lot.

Good Luck :)
